ben kirilo is a multimedia artist based in Wellington, New Zealand. inspired by skateboarding and hip-hop culture, he began to produce media across a range of mediums: stills, video, graphics, and soon working with artists like Hans at the age of 15. his style is characterised by an obsession to capture moments in time and a love of analogue textures and processes. as time went on, he fell in love with electronic music and now spends his time covering the local electronic scene.
ben has worked at and alongside major New Zealand festivals: Rhythm and Vines, Bay Dreams, Soundsplash, Hightide, and more. ben has produced high-quality media for a range of talented local & international artists, including ROVA, Messie, SOTA, Inja, Badger, Crossy, Mikeyy, Hyan, FOVOS, Pirapus, Ciko and so many more.
alongside his work with artists, ben spends time working with a range of venues and promotion companies across New Zealand, specialising in promotional social media materials for music events. recently, ben's work has been featured in Mixmag, and has appeared on tour materials for ROVA's 'year of the hoo' tour, as well as collaborating with ROVA on artwork for singles, SAY MY NAME, LEFT 2 RIGHT and upcoming single BODYROCK, as well as collaborating directly with audiology and coastal promotions on a collab recap post of Hightide 2024.
ben primarily focuses on still visuals, namely photography and graphics. he has an extensive portfolio of both personal and professional work. ben does not limit himself to any particular style or method, being proficient in both film and digital photography.
